In Sochi, after the explosion of a gas-air mixture in a multi-storey apartment building, a local emergency mode was introduced at the scene. This was announced on October 25 by Sochi Mayor Andrey Proshunin.

"I held a field meeting of the operational headquarters on Timiryazev Street. We are introducing a local emergency mode at the scene," he wrote on the Telegram channel.

It is specified that after receiving information about the incident, temporary accommodation facilities were promptly deployed and transport was provided. Currently, there are 28 evacuated residents, including seven children.

The mayor stressed that the primary task at the moment is to provide all possible assistance to the victims. The next step will be to assess the condition of the building, after which a decision will be made on its future fate.

Earlier that day, the Ministry of Emergency Situations reported one death in an explosion of a gas-air mixture in a multi-storey apartment building in Sochi. It was clarified that the explosion occurred on the fourth floor.

Later, the press service of the operational headquarters of the Krasnodar Territory clarified that three people were injured in the explosion. According to the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, 70 people were evacuated.
