Miroshnik called the West's plans to replace Zelensky with Zaluzhny "cunning"
The situation in Ukraine will not change if the West implements its plan to replace President Volodymyr Zelensky with the former commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Valery Zaluzhny, who currently holds the position of Ambassador to the United Kingdom. This was announced on October 25 by Ambassador-at-Large of the Russian Foreign Ministry Rodion Miroshnik.
"Replacing one puppet with another puppet will have only some technical parameters, but nothing more," he said in an interview with TASS.
The agency's interlocutor clarified that if this plan is implemented, Kiev's strategy will not change, and the claims that the reshuffle will affect approaches to resolving the conflict are "to a certain extent cunning."
Miroshnik noted that Moscow's position on this issue remains unchanged — it is extremely important, according to him, that the leader of Ukraine be the person who would express the interests of the people.
On September 18, Deputy Chairman of the Central Election Commission (CEC) of Ukraine Serhiy Dubovik said that currently there are no prerequisites for holding elections in his country in the coming year. According to him, the budget does not provide for such funds.
On July 18, American journalist Seymour Hersh reported on discussions in the United States about a possible forced change of power in Ukraine. According to him, Zelensky was on the "short list for exile," while Zaluzhny is being considered as a potential presidential candidate.
