Scammers most often try to disguise themselves as military personnel, doctors, and journalists on dating sites to gain the victim's trust. This was announced on October 25 by the Russian Interior Ministry.

According to TASS, scammers try to choose romantic professions to attract attention. Then, during communication, they begin to have emotional conversations, and after a few days they even admit to deep feelings.

Scammers can also present themselves as successful businessmen and offer to teach others their scheme, which supposedly helped them get rich.

All the actions of the scammers are aimed at gaining access to the personal and bank data of the victims. In addition, the Interior Ministry advised not to trust strangers and not to transfer money to them.

Cybersecurity expert Alexander Dvoryansky told Izvestia on October 24 that information hygiene, vigilance and compliance with security rules will help minimize the risk of data loss and protect against fraudulent attacks. For security on the Network, he also advised to have an additional mailbox.
