Russians were told about six countries to visit without a passport
Russians can currently visit six countries without a passport. This was announced on October 25 by Roman Gareev, Candidate of Economics, Associate Professor, Head of the Department of Hotel and Tourism Management at Plekhanov Russian University of Economics.
"Currently, Russian citizens can visit six countries without a passport, using only an internal passport. We are talking about states with which Russia has concluded relevant international treaties. These are Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia, Abkhazia and South Ossetia," he told TASS.
The associate professor clarified that visiting Armenia with an internal passport is only available if arrival is by flight: a passport is required to cross the land border.
He also noted that the number of countries that accept Russians with an internal passport remains stable. According to Gareyev, no prospects for change are expected.
Earlier, on October 24, former Moldovan President Igor Dodon said that if the country's authorities introduced a visa regime for Russians, it would create a direct threat to internal stability and lead to an aggravation of relations with Transnistria.
