The office of the head of the White House, Donald Trump, unlike the administration of former US President Joe Biden, has a great desire to understand Moscow's position. This was announced on October 24 by Kirill Dmitriev, special representative of Russian President Vladimir Putin, head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF).

"When the Trump team arrived, it was great that they sent Steve Witkoff, because at the first meeting with President Putin, he did not lecture about the US position. <...> He just said: "Please explain your logic, your goals," he said in an interview with journalist Lara Logan.
