Olga Karaseva, an ambulance paramedic, told how to protect the body from the flu in the fall.

In conversation with the agency RuNews24.ru On October 20, the specialist noted that vaccination is a key health protection measure in the fall. It significantly reduces the risk of infection and facilitates the course of the disease. It is recommended to be vaccinated annually, especially before the start of the epidemic season.

Karaseva noted that during the period of increased virus activity, antiviral ointments, such as oxoline, can be used by applying it to the nasal passages. This helps strengthen local immunity and reduce the risk of infection.

On the recommendation of a doctor, prophylactic use of antiviral drugs is allowed for a short course — usually about three days. Mechanical protection is also important: frequent hand washing, minimizing contact with patients, and the use of personal hygiene products. Do not forget about warm and waterproof clothes to avoid hypothermia.

Additionally, proper nutrition, proper sleep, activity and fresh air help to strengthen the immune system.

Earlier, on October 24, Vladimir Neronov, an infectious disease specialist, MD, said that a mild form of polio may resemble acute respiratory viral infections. The expert noted that the patient may also have fever, headache, sore throat, writes RT. The key difference between polio is an asymmetric flaccid paralysis without impaired sensitivity, which develops against a background of fever.

On the same day, it became known that almost 3 million residents of the Moscow region were vaccinated against the flu. The Ministry of Health of the region also added that vaccination can be done at the polyclinic at the place of attachment and in mobile complexes, writes 360.ru . In addition to the polyclinic, a child can be vaccinated in kindergarten or school, the Moscow City News agency reports.

On October 21, doctor Andrey Kondrakhin named effective methods of flu prevention in the autumn period. According to him, an area for changing clothes at home will reduce the risk of contracting the flu. In addition, basic preventive measures include wearing masks in crowded areas, using sanitizers, washing hands thoroughly, and treating the mouth and nose after returning from work.
