— If you had joined the Path of the Regions, you would have had a chance to cross paths with your father, under whose leadership Kuban Holding has already reached the sixth round. Would you like to play against him in the Cup?
— Let the father pass on, and then we'll see how it turns out (smiles). He and his team are doing great right now. Hopefully, the match against Chernomorets was not the last one they won in the Cup. Come to their match with Torpedo on October 29. I will also try to be there and cheer for my father — let him win.
— Do you think he has a chance to win?
— Yes, there's no point in thinking — the game will show everything. No one expected them to reach such a stage at all. Why don't they surprise the audience again. Anyway, I know that my father and his team will do everything to win again.
— Do you see Dynamo's chances of scoring points following the results of the next match with Zenit?
—They're good. Why can't we do it?
— You won't be playing there. Isn't that a problem?
"Not at all. I am sure that the team will be well prepared for this match. Of course, it's a shame that I won't be able to play because of the suspension. But we have a good team, strong players, so I have no doubt that Dynamo will give Zenit a fight.
— What do you attribute Dynamo's poor results in the first 12 rounds of the championship to?
— Probably, there is still some kind of lapping coach to team, team to coach. Of course, I would like this to happen faster and the result to be better. But so far, everything is working out the way it is. Nevertheless, I am sure that the situation will improve soon and everything will be fine.
— In connection with Karpin's combination of work at Dynamo and the national team, does his absence from the club affect the games of the national teams during the breaks?
— It doesn't seem to affect me in any way.
— It is clear that you have been working with Karpin in the national team for more than a year, but is the Dynamo team still getting used to his demands?
— It's not just about the requirements of the head coach. There are many factors influencing the outcome. Each of us needs to improve our teamwork and move forward.
— How did you react to Dmitry Gafin's departure?
— It was a surprise for the team, including me. Dmitry Alexandrovich has done a lot for Dynamo, for all of us — the players, the staff. Therefore, he only thanks me for everything. We are always in touch with him.
— Have you met Alexander Ivlev, who replaced him?
— We are not so familiar with the new leadership yet. But I am sure that we will all move forward together towards the goal.
