- The drawbridge under construction in St. Petersburg in 2026 will be ready for the passage of ships.
In St. Petersburg, they are preparing to install drawbridges on the Bolshoy Smolensky Bridge. This was announced on October 24 by the governor of the city, Alexander Beglov.
"The work is progressing at a faster pace. Initially, we planned to complete the construction in 2029, but, according to our calculations, we will be able to do it in 2028," Beglov wrote on the Telegram channel.
He noted that preparations are currently underway to install a drawbridge. According to him, the structure has already been assembled on a slipway on the left bank of the Neva River. Installation will begin after the end of navigation, the governor added.
On August 28, Beglov announced the completion of construction work this year at two new metro stations, Putilovskaya and Yugo-Zapadnaya. The mayor added that the construction process in St. Petersburg is difficult due to the deep conditions.
