The United States will send the Gerald Ford aircraft carrier group to the southern Command in Central and South America to combat drug trafficking. This was announced by the Pentagon on October 24.

Earlier in the day, the head of the US military, Pete Hegseth, said that on the night of October 24, the United States attacked a ship allegedly belonging to drug traffickers in the Caribbean Sea. The Pentagon chief also cited United States intelligence data, according to which the ship was involved in illegal drug smuggling. According to Hegseth, there were six male drug terrorists on board the ship during the attack - all of them were killed.
