FSB detained a resident of Crimea for calling for violence against Russians
A resident of Sudak was arrested for publicly insulting Russian citizens and calling for violence on the Internet. This was announced on October 24 by the Office of the Federal Security Service (FSB) for the Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol.
"The illegal activities of a resident of Sudak, born in 1964, who is accused of carrying out public calls for extremist activities, have been suppressed. It was established that the man posted Russophobic content on the Facebook social network (owned by Meta, a company whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in the Russian Federation)," the agency said in a statement.
It is clarified that in his publications he insulted the Russian population. Thanks to the conducted examination, linguistic signs of motivation were found in the form of a call to commit violent acts against a group of persons identified by nationality.
A criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for extremist activity"). The attacker faces up to five years in prison.
On October 23, the FSB detained a pro-Ukrainian saboteur who was collecting information about the deployment of units of the Russian Armed Forces (AF). The agency showed footage of his interrogation. In the video, the attacker says that since April 2025, he has been in contact with the special services of Ukraine and transmits information about transport and military infrastructure facilities to commit sabotage.
