Gutsan arrives in Hanoi to sign the UN Convention against Cybercrime
Russian Prosecutor General Alexander Gutsan arrived in Hanoi to participate in the signing ceremony of the UN Convention against Cybercrime. This was reported on October 24 on the website of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation.
"The UN Convention on Combating Cybercrime was developed on the initiative of the Russian Prosecutor General's Office with the coordinating role of the Russian Foreign Ministry," the publication noted.
It is noted that Gutsan headed the Russian interdepartmental delegation on behalf of Russian President Vladimir Putin. At the airport, he was met by Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko and the leadership of the Supreme People's Prosecutor's Office of Vietnam.
The Russian Prosecutor General will hold a number of meetings with foreign colleagues, during which the parties will be able to exchange views on key issues, the department noted.
Earlier, on October 23, Putin ordered the Prosecutor General's Office of the Russian Federation to sign the UN Convention against Cybercrime on behalf of the country. It was noted that the Convention also provides for the creation of mechanisms for the electronic exchange of data on serious crimes.
