Ten-time biathlon world champion Simon confessed to the theft

Multiple winner of the biathlon World Championships and Olympic medalist, Frenchwoman Julia Simon, pleaded guilty in the case of bank card fraud, the victim of which was her teammate Justine Brezaz-Boucher. This was reported on October 24 by the newspaper Le Dauphine Liberty.

It is reported that Simon was convicted of theft and fraud committed in France and Norway in 2021. According to the publication, three people suffered from the fraudulent actions of the athlete, including her colleague in the national team.

We are talking about fraudulent purchases of high-tech Go Pro products that were delivered to her home. The case was solved in the summer of 2023.

The court found the athlete guilty and sentenced her to three months of probation, as well as a fine of €15,000. Simone will also have to reimburse the costs of the trial of Justine Brezaz-Boucher and pay € 1 thousand in damages to the French Ski Federation (FFS).
