The old bridge over the Khristoforovka River began to be dismantled on Sakhalin

In the Sakhalin region, they began dismantling the emergency bridge over the Khristoforovka River. This is reported by the regional Ministry of Transport and Road Management.

We are talking about the crossing on the border of Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk and Anivsky district, located on the 5th km of the Larch–Okhotskoye highway. According to Alexey Kaverznev, acting head of the State Enterprise Sakhalinavtodor Management, the existing bridge will be replaced with two culverts during the overhaul project.

"Currently, the contractor has already completed work on the reconstruction of communication networks and the construction of temporary bypass approaches, as well as completed the construction of a temporary bypass bridge. Traffic on it has been running since October 22," said Kaverznev.

According to SakhalinMedia news agency, the contractor, Vostokdorstroy LLC, entered the facility back in March 2025. However, it is prohibited to carry out construction and installation work in the channel of the Khristoforovka River, which is a spawning area, from the second decade of May to the third decade of August. Therefore, only preparatory work was carried out in spring and summer.

It is planned to complete the overhaul of the bridge and the adjacent road section by October 2026. The work is carried out within the framework of the national project "Infrastructure for Life".
