The defense appealed the arrest of the head of the DIA Melnikov

The defense filed a complaint against the choice of a preventive measure in the form of detention to the head of the Deposit Insurance Agency (DIA) Andrey Melnikov, who is accused of embezzling about 4 billion rubles. Lawyer Nikita Filippov told Izvestia about this.

"A complaint against the court's decision has been filed," the human rights activist said.

A day earlier, Melnikov was charged with embezzlement of about 4 billion rubles.

Melnikov's detention became known on October 23. At the same time, the head of the DIA does not admit his guilt in the case of fraud on a particularly large scale. He was detained for two months.
