At least 20 people were killed in an accident involving a tourist bus in India.
In the state of Andhra Pradesh in southern India, at least 20 people died as a result of a tourist bus fire. This was reported by the Hindustan Times newspaper on October 24.
The incident occurred when a Kaveri Travels bus traveling from Hyderabad to Bangalore collided with a motorcycle on the national highway. It is specified that the vehicle was carrying about 44 passengers.
"The two—wheeled vehicle got stuck under the bus and hit the fuel tank, which led to an immediate explosion and the rapid spread of flames throughout the bus," the publication says.
Most of the passengers were asleep at the time of the collision. Some of them managed to break windows and get out, but many remained trapped inside the burning bus. The fire spread so quickly that a significant number of people did not have time to get out and were cut off from rescue. Local residents provided prompt assistance to the victims, trying to get passengers out before the arrival of firefighters.
On October 19, ABC News reported that a car had hit a tent in Bladensburg, injuring 11 people, including a baby and eight minors. It was clarified that the baby's condition was assessed as "critical".
