256 road accidents have occurred in Russia over the past day.

Over the past day, 256 traffic accidents occurred on Russian roads, in which 28 people were killed and 295 injured. This was reported to Izvestia on October 24 by the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry.

As a result of 92 accidents involving pedestrians, six people were killed, and 91 more were injured in various degrees of severity. Among the injured are 13 children, four of whom were injured at pedestrian crossings, nine outside the pedestrian crossing. Of the total number of pedestrian incidents, 36 occurred on zebras and 56 outside their area of operation.

18 accidents involving buses were recorded, in which 1 person was killed and 25 road users, including four minors, required medical attention. The reason for 11 bus accidents was traffic violations by their drivers.

In addition, 23 accidents involving minors were registered on Russian roads over the past day, as a result of which one child was killed and 24 young road users were injured, including seven passengers, two cyclists and two motor transport drivers.

In the Krasnoyarsk Territory, on a regional highway, a 58-year-old bus driver carrying seven passengers did not take into account road and meteorological conditions in fog conditions, lost control at the end of overtaking and drove off the road with a subsequent rollover. As a result of the accident, three passengers, including two minors (9 and 13 years old), were injured and hospitalized, and four more passengers were sent for outpatient treatment after receiving medical attention.

In the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, a 15-year-old cyclist died under the wheels of a car at an unregulated crossing. The driver who hit the child fled the scene: measures are underway to find him.

Before the weekend, the Traffic Police draws the attention of parents to the need to be more attentive to children and try to ensure maximum safety for them on the road. They should not be allowed to go outside alone, there must be retroreflective elements on their outerwear. and it is necessary to regularly tell children about traffic regulations, the dangers of playing near the roadway and the need to follow the rules of safe behavior, especially when crossing the road, the department reminds.

"We draw the drivers' special attention to the inadmissibility of leaving the scene of an accident in which they have become a participant. Such actions are a gross violation of the law and entail serious administrative or criminal liability. In the event of a car accident, the driver must immediately stop the vehicle, turn on the emergency alarm, put up an emergency stop sign, provide first aid to the injured and report the incident to the police. Responsible behavior at the scene of an accident can save lives and contribute to the objective establishment of all the circumstances of the incident," said Police Colonel Anton Belan, Deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and Prevention of Child traffic Injuries at the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

On October 23, it became known that a car crashed into a bus stop in Tver, injuring four people, including a minor. According to preliminary information, the Opel driver lost control.
