- A group of Russians in difficult conditions is trying to descend from the top of Manaslu in Nepal
A group of Russians descends from Mount Manaslu in Nepal in difficult weather conditions, but there is a connection with them. Irina, the wife of Andrei Vasiliev, the head of the group, told Izvestia about this on October 24.
Earlier, the media reported that five Russians were stuck while descending from the top of Mount Manaslu.
"They went to the top on a pioneering route, that is, on a route they had never walked before. And now they are descending in difficult weather conditions, there is no visibility, strong wind. <...> There is a connection with them, they wrote last night," the woman said.
At the same time, she stressed that she was calm, and so far it was not worth "causing panic."
On October 5, it was reported that about 1,000 people were trapped on the eastern slope of Mount Everest due to a sudden snowstorm. Due to the rampant elements, the local administration temporarily banned visits to the area around Mount Everest, but about 1,000 people already at the top were trapped.
