In his speech on October 24, US President Donald Trump noted that the impact of new sanctions against Russia would be clear in six months.

"I'll let you know in six months. We'll see how things turn out," he said during his speech at the White House, answering a question.

Commenting on Russian President Vladimir Putin's statement about the minor impact of the new sanctions on the Russian economy, Trump expressed his reaction: "I'm happy for him."

On October 22, the US Treasury Department announced that the United States was imposing sanctions against Russian oil companies Rosneft and Lukoil. It was noted that these companies are included in the sanctions list for activities in the Russian energy sector.

At the same time, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Moscow considered the new US restrictive measures against Russian oil companies to be counterproductive. At the same time, she stressed that the new sanctions would not create significant problems for Russia.
