In Irkutsk, the prosecutor's office began checking after an incident with a minor who was beaten by a classmate. This was announced by the regional prosecutor's office on Friday, October 24.
"During the supervisory measures, the prosecutor's office will assess the implementation of legislation on education, protection of children's rights, prevention of neglect and juvenile delinquency," the supervisory authority said in a Telegram channel post.
It is clarified that information has spread online that a student of the 8th grade of one of the schools in the Pervomaisky neighborhood of Irkutsk suffered at the hands of her classmate. At the moment, the causes and conditions of the incident are being established. The prosecutors will monitor the investigation of the criminal case under Article 213 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Hooliganism") and assess the legality of the investigators' decisions. If necessary, the prosecutor's office will take response measures, the department added.
On September 25, the Main Directorate (GU) of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Irkutsk region reported that a teenager stabbed a classmate during a lesson at a school in the city of Winter. It was clarified that the prosecutor's office would conduct an audit in the framework of the implementation of legislation on education.
