Medvedev announced the transfer of powers to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the field of external labor migration

The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) will be given the authority to control the sphere of external labor migration. This was announced on October 23 by Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council.

"The key role in this work is now assigned to the Ministry of Internal Affairs as the main body responsible for the development and implementation of state migration policy," he said in a message on the MAX messenger.

The Interior Ministry has the appropriate capabilities to solve problems in this area, Medvedev said.

On October 23, Medvedev expressed the opinion that migrants should leave the Russian Federation after completing their tasks and their stay in the country should strictly comply with the terms of the employment contract. He also suggested improving the mechanisms for attracting foreign workers.
