The bridge connecting the Republics of Bashkortostan and Tatarstan across the Ik River was opened after its major repairs. This was announced on September 23 by the head of Bashkiria Radiy Khabirov.

"Traffic has been opened on the renovated bridge over the Ik River, which connects Bashkortostan and Tatarstan. This is a true symbol of fraternal friendship between our republics," he wrote in a post on the VKontakte social network.

Khabirov said that traffic on this section of the road reaches 4 thousand cars per day. With the opening of the bridge, traffic on the Urussu — Oktyabrsky highway will be more convenient and safer.

The overhaul of the 238-meter-long bridge was carried out as part of the national project "Infrastructure for Life".

On October 15, Russian President Vladimir Putin opened traffic on three new road facilities in the Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug (Khanty-Mansiysk Autonomous Okrug), Tatarstan and Karelia via video conference. A section of road connecting the central part of Russia and Siberia was opened in the Khanty—Mansi Autonomous Okrug: the bridge is 1.6 thousand meters long, and the road is 45 km.
