Preparations for the construction of a joint industrial park with the Russian Federation will begin in Tajikistan by the end of 2025. The Russian Ambassador to the republic, Semyon Grigoriev, told Izvestia on October 24.

According to him, the prospects for the construction of this public space in Tajikistan have been discussed with the Russian side for several years, and the relevant decree was signed during the state visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to the republic in October this year.

"The creation of an industrial park in the city of Dushanbe has entered an active phase. <...> The practical implementation of the project will begin in the very near future — preparatory work is scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025, and the main activity on the site will begin in 2026," he said.

The industrial park, as Grigoriev noted, will create new jobs, attract investment and increase export potential.

"The implementation of this project will contribute to the development of a high—value-added economy in the republic through the organization of deep processing of local raw materials," adds Grigoriev.

According to the approved concept, according to the ambassador, the Russian side contributes 500 million rubles as a contribution to the property of a specially created founding company of the joint venture, and Tajikistan, for its part, provides production facilities.

President of Tajikistan Emomali Rahmon, speaking on October 9 following talks with the Russian leader, announced not only the implementation of the agreement on the establishment of an industrial park in Tajikistan, but also the continuation of the development of interregional ties. He said that within the framework of "meaningful and constructive" discussions, the positive dynamics of increasing the number of quotas for Tajik students in Russia was also noted. Rahmon thanked the Russian side for his government's support in training Russian language teachers, in building a Center for Gifted Children and the Mayakovsky Theater in Dushanbe.
