A fully unmanned technology for laying roadways has been demonstrated in the Stavropol Territory. This technology was used for the first time in Russia, the head of the region, Vladimir Vladimirov, said in his social networks on Thursday, October 23.

The tests took place at the international exhibition "Doroga-2025" at the Minvodyexpo exhibition complex. The work was supervised by the governor and deputy chairman of the government Marat Khusnullin, writes IA StavropolMedia.

The automated complex consisting of an asphalt paver and two rollers was fully developed by Russian engineers. In the test mode, the equipment laid several dozen meters of asphalt.

"The test site is a small segment for road vehicles, but a big step for the road industry. The introduction of artificial intelligence and automation into it is more than a technological experiment," Vladimirov said.

According to the head of the region, the authorities will continue to do everything to ensure that the roads meet high standards, are safe, reliable and modern.

Earlier, Izvestia wrote that Russia had developed microcapsules with a bonding polymer that would allow cracks in the road surface to be repaired without human intervention. The granules themselves are embedded in the asphalt-concrete mixture.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
