Moscow doctors have saved a girl with a rare birth defect.

Doctors of the Children's City Clinical Hospital named after N.F. Filatov saved a girl with a rare congenital defect of the abdominal wall — omphalocele. This was announced on Thursday, October 23, by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development.

The pathology was detected during pregnancy. Because of her severity, doctors decided to have a caesarean section.

The specialists of Filatov Hospital used their own gentle method of step-by-step treatment using a vacuum system. The organs gradually returned to their place, and later doctors performed abdominal wall plastic surgery, Moscow 24 writes.

The girl was discharged 10 days later. She is feeling well now, and her health will be monitored at the early care center, the Moscow City News agency said.
