Experts note that the main problem with diabetes in children is too late diagnosis.

According to experts, almost half of the children are admitted to hospitals already in serious condition with ketoacidosis. Parents and even pediatricians often do not recognize the first symptoms — 98% of parents admitted that they did not know the warning signs, the Health Mail reported on Thursday, October 23.

To change this, doctors suggest memorizing the formula: "Drinking? Pissing? Have you lost weight? Check your blood sugar." These simple questions help you notice the key symptoms — thirst, frequent urination, and weight loss with a good appetite. If there is at least one sign, it is recommended to check the glucose level immediately.

Posters with this formula have already been sent to six pilot regions and posted in clinics, hospitals, schools and kindergartens. The organizers make sure that they really work.

In addition to the educational campaign, experts are discussing providing children with glucose monitoring systems and creating a single digital service for doctors, where device data will flow.

Experts also note the importance of supporting families: the knowledge base for parents plays an important role, and especially the personal stories of people who have been living with diabetes for many years, starting families and leading a fulfilling life.

On October 22, nutritionist Irina Pisareva, in an interview with RT, said that the later the child gets acquainted with sweets, the better it will be for his health. According to Pisareva, sugar easily leads to weight gain, especially in childhood. Early type 2 diabetes and caries are also possible.

On October 21, Natalia Popova, an allergist and immunologist at the Vidnovskaya Hospital of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow region, warned about the dangers of chupa chups for children's health, writes 360.ru . According to her, they can cause allergic reactions, tooth decay and diabetes in children, as they contain dyes and large amounts of sugar, according to "Moscow 24".

At the same time, the press service of the Ministry of Health of the Moscow region reported that patients of all ages with diabetes can study at special schools that operate in medical institutions in the region. There, doctors talk about the principles of proper nutrition, counting carbohydrates, correcting insulin doses, administering injections, and correctly interpreting blood sugar levels, according to the Moscow City News Agency.

On October 14, the head of the National Parent Committee, Irina Volynets, proposed banning the sale of sugary carbonated drinks to citizens under the age of 18. It is noted that such drinks are extremely harmful to the body and can lead to serious diseases, writes NSN.

Earlier, pediatrician, PhD Rabiyat Zainiddinova said that the complete exclusion of sugar from the diet of children will not lead to a healthy generation that does not suffer from hypertension and diabetes, as this is influenced by other signs.
