Obesity, being a multifactorial disease, requires an integrated approach to diagnosis, treatment and prevention. Alexander Umnov, a lecturer at the Department of Surgery at the Medical Faculty of the State University of Education, told about this on Thursday, October 23.

According to the doctor, obesity is a pathological condition caused by an imbalance between energy intake and expenditure, associated with a complex of factors, including basic habits. He recalled that there are certain periods in the development of the child's body, characterized by increased vulnerability to obesity, in preschool and school age.

"To reduce the risk and development of obesity in children, it is recommended to adhere to the following principles: it is necessary to provide the child with a diet without high—calorie foods, limit the consumption of sweets and carbonated drinks. <...> The child should eat healthy, low-calorie food by the hour in the morning, at lunch and in the evening," the expert advised in a conversation with Lenta.Ru .

Umnov noted that it is necessary to identify the child in sports sections and encourage sports activities. You can practice at home, but you need to do at least 60 minutes of physical exercise every day, including a variety of activities to maintain the child's interest, he added.

The doctor added that the child needs at least 8-10 hours of sleep per day. According to the expert, it is important for the whole family to maintain and cultivate a healthy lifestyle, the foundations of which are proper nutrition and physical activity.

On October 14, fitness trainer and nutritionist Artyom Opalnitsky, in an interview with NSN, drew attention to the importance of careful attention to children's health, especially in early school age. According to him, the period from 5 to 10 years is recognized as the most dangerous stage when excess weight can gain a foothold for a long time. 360.ru .
