Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, said that the Russian Federation must respond promptly and harshly to any hostile actions and statements addressed to it. He made a corresponding statement on October 23 at a meeting of the federal council of primary branches of United Russia.

"The world has changed — information is now distributed instantly. Our country has many friends, but there are also those who are hostile. They should not be allowed to descend," Medvedev stressed.
