On October 22, the opening ceremony of the 18th Pyongyang International Film Festival took place at the Pyongyang International Film Center. After the ceremony, the Russian-Chinese film "Red Silk" was shown.
During the event, the head of the National Cinematography Administration of the DPRK stressed that the festival would be an opportunity to further strengthen friendship between progressive countries and cinematographers around the world.
The Pyongyang International Film Festival was last held in 2019, but was later suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
On October 10, "Red Silk" was shown at the Chinese Cultural Center in Paris. The atmospheric film evening was held to the sounds of an accordion and a Russian balalaika.
The film was created with the participation of NMG Kinoprokat, a company that is part of the National Media Group holding. The film's distributor in China is the largest film corporation, China Film Group.
