The maintenance of roads in Chita was estimated at 1.2 billion rubles.
About 1.2 billion rubles are required for the maintenance of roads in a standard condition in Chita. The budget of Transbaikalia allocated only 400 million rubles for this, and these funds are not enough, said Marina Popova, head of the municipal economy committee, at a meeting on Thursday, October 23.
"We are waiting for an additional 60 million, but we have already been waiting for two months, because there is no way to get a resolution on the redistribution of funds from savings that have developed in the framework of construction for the current maintenance of the road network," the official said, quoted by ChitaMedia news agency.
In turn, the head of the city Duma, Yevgeny Yarilov, clarified that there are 70 km of roads in the regional center, and only about 200 of them are paved. Against this background, grading is of great importance, but there is also a problem with this, he added.
Earlier it was reported that Chita's budget for 2026 and 2027 will be replenished by 248 million rubles. The deputies of the City Duma came to this decision.
