Zakharova called for resolving the conflict in Ukraine through diplomacy

A peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine should be achieved not by false statements from media representatives, but by diplomatic efforts through negotiations. This was announced on October 23 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, during a briefing.

"Yes, it is a difficult and painstaking job. And it should not be done at the microphone stand, not through leaks and stuffing, it should be done, as diplomats should, through diplomatic efforts, diplomatic tools," she said.

At the same time, the representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the Russian side sees no obstacles to continuing the process of "agreeing on the political framework of Ukrainian regulation and saturation with concrete results" on the part of the leaders of the Russian Federation and the United States.

According to Zakharova, the goals of the special military operation (SVO) declared by Russia remain unchanged. At the same time, Russia "needs a configuration of negotiation solutions that will eliminate the root causes of the conflict and ensure reliable peace."

"This is the starting point in our dialogue with the United States of America, as well as with other interested countries that seek to make a constructive contribution to the settlement," she concluded.
