The Russian Security Council told about attempts to falsify history by the West

Attempts to falsify history by the countries of the collective West have taken on unprecedented proportions. This was announced on October 23 by Alexander Venediktov, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Russia.

"This is especially important today, when attempts to falsify history by the countries of the collective West have taken on unprecedented proportions. In the so—called civilized Europe, the uncompromising struggle against monuments to those who liberated these lands from the Nazi invaders continues," Venediktov said.

Earlier that day in Moscow, during a ceremony attended by Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko, Deputy Secretary of the Security Council handed over the book "The Feat of Mongolia in World War II" to the Ambassador of Mongolia to Russia Ulziisaykhany Enkhtuvshin. The collection, prepared by the Security Council staff in collaboration with the Russian State University for the Humanities (RGGU), is dedicated to Soviet-Mongolian relations during the Great Patriotic War and Mongolia's contribution to victory in World War II.

"It is important that today Russia and Mongolia are united in understanding who exactly is behind the incitement of conflicts and the pitting of the peoples of the world," Venediktov stressed.

In his opinion, the example of the Ukrainian events clearly shows the tragedies that can lead to the destruction of historical heritage and the inculcation of false values.

In February, Russian Ambassador to Vienna Dmitry Lyubinsky said that Western attempts to rewrite the history of World War II were doomed to failure. According to him, it is now more important than ever before to honor the memory of the victims of the humanitarian disaster and to recall the heroic deed of the Soviet people.

On December 25, 2024, Russian President Vladimir Putin noted that the victory over Nazism in 1945 should be promoted as a common value for all mankind. The Head of State stressed that all CIS countries remember and honor the feat of all the peoples of the USSR.
