Russia sees no obstacles in the dialogue with the United States on the settlement of the conflict in Ukraine. This was announced on October 23 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

"The Russian Federation, speaking about the political and diplomatic settlement of the Ukrainian conflict, invariably proceeds from the fact that there is no alternative to achieving the goals of the special military operation announced in February 2022," the diplomat noted.

Zakharov added that it is also about reliably ensuring the neutral, non-aligned, nuclear-weapon-free status of Ukraine, its demilitarization and denazification, including the development of reliable guarantees of the rights and freedoms of the Russian-speaking population.

"This is the starting point in our dialogue with the United States of America, as well as other interested countries that seek to make a constructive contribution to the settlement," the Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman stressed.

The last one took place back in April, and the next one may take place in October or November.

On October 16, US President Donald Trump announced a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin, which was to take place in Budapest. Later, on October 22, he said that the planned negotiations would not take place, as it was "not the right moment" for this.

On the same day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that the exact dates of the summit between Russia and the United States had not been determined, and careful preparations were needed to organize the meeting. According to him, there is currently "no news."
