The Russian film "The Ferryman" tells about the problems of ordinary people in the border areas. The story of the painting is symbolic — about a man who tries to connect people separated by fate, and ordinary residents of Taganrog, who suddenly became actors, give it credibility. This was reported by Izvestia correspondent Nikolai Nikulin on October 23.

A special expedition to the Zaporizhia region was organized for the film. Based on the stories of local residents, the idea arose to make a film about a ferryman who united the two shores.

"Yes, indeed, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the bridge that connected the two banks was broken and destroyed. Our ferryman, whose principle of life is to be true to himself, true to his people, true to his residents, and true simply to the purpose for which he lives," explained Fyodor Popov, director of The Ferryman.

The main character Konstantinovich is also a dreamer, he wants to build a time machine to give today a historical meaning. Artem Alekseev, who played the role, appeared on the red carpet of the premiere in the company of actors Diana Deeva, Natalia Berger, Svetlana Permyakova and Natalia Popova.

"This is a film about the lives of ordinary people in the border areas and what these people have to go through," said presenter and actress Popova.

The film's characters are simple and understandable ordinary people with their own problems, many of whom accidentally find themselves in dramatic circumstances. For example, the role of Svetlana Permyakova in the script was simply referred to as "the neighbor with the cow."

An important heroine of the film is a foreign journalist, Betty, who remained in the village on duty.

"She needs to make a report on rural life and the villagers, she's a little scared at first, but then she discovers the quality, strength and breadth of the Russian soul," said actress Natalia Berger.

Filming took place near Taganrog, and the locals were also able to become actors — their participation added color and atmosphere to the picture. The film "The Ferryman" is an important statement by the director, sincere and emotional, which gives rise to audience reflections. So, the viewer Taisiya shared that the picture charged her with pleasant emotions, and was also sincere and friendly, and the viewer Valeria admitted that the cow in the frame was the most unusual actor.

In the movie "The Ferryman" there is a place for drama, melodrama, and comedy, so it will be interesting for a wide variety of viewers.

In September, it was reported that the film "The Ferryman" would be released on October 30, and would also be dedicated to National Unity Day. The film starred Anna Ukolova, Natalia Berger, Eduard Radzyukevich, Svetlana Permyakova, Diana Deeva and others. The script of the film was written by Mikhail Plisko with the participation of Rodion Beletsky.
