The number of people poisoned in Ulan-Ude has increased to 159
The number of victims of poisoning by finished products in the stores of the Nikolaevsky chain in Ulan-Ude has increased to 159, 90 of whom are children. This was reported on October 23 in the press service of the Ministry of Health of Buryatia.
"As of October 23, 159 cases were registered, of which 90 were children," the ministry said.
It is specified that 82 people are currently being treated at the Republican Clinical Infectious Diseases Hospital, 51 of whom are children.
Earlier, on October 19, Rospotrebnadzor reported a group outbreak of intestinal infection in Ulan-Ude. The patients consumed products from a local company, Vostok LLC. Later, on October 21, the court placed under house arrest the head of production in the shop of ready-made food products of the Vostok company in the case of mass poisoning of citizens.
On October 22, the Office of Rospotrebnadzor in Buryatia reported that the number of victims of poisoning with finished products in the stores of the Nikolaevsky chain in Ulan-Ude increased to 145.
The Zheleznodorozhny District Court of Ulan-Ude suspended the activities of the Vostok company after the poisoning incident. It was clarified that the court made the decision after considering the case of an administrative violation under Part 1 of Article 6.3 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation ("Violation of legislation in the field of sanitary and epidemiological welfare of the population, expressed in violation of existing sanitary rules and hygienic standards, failure to comply with sanitary and hygienic and anti-epidemic measures").
