A unique digital archive in oncology has been created in Moscow
Moscow has become the first megacity in the world to fully switch to digital pathology in oncology. This was announced on Wednesday, October 22, by Anastasia Rakova, Deputy Mayor for Social Development.
She noted that now all studies are carried out in digital format: glasses are scanned with high resolution, and doctors analyze digital images. A large archive of such data is generated daily.
According to Rakova, this allowed the introduction of an artificial intelligence system that helps doctors by reducing routine work, for example, when searching for metastases in lymph nodes, the Moscow City News agency notes.
In the future, the accumulated database will become the basis for the development of new digital tools that support the diagnosis and treatment of oncological diseases, writes Moscow 24.
