In Moscow, an 81-year-old man became a victim of telephone fraud and lost more than 30.2 million rubles. This was announced on Wednesday, October 22, by the press service of the Moscow prosecutor's office.

The ministry noted that the criminals acted according to the classic scheme: they presented themselves as employees of financial organizations and law enforcement agencies, frightened the pensioner with "suspicion of transferring money abroad" and threats of confiscation of property, the Moscow city news agency reports.

During the week, the scammers called the man in messengers, persuaded him to transfer all his savings to a "special account" and forbade him to communicate with his loved ones. Under their control, he withdrew more than 28 million rubles from three banks and transferred the money to couriers, and then borrowed another 2 million rubles from friends and also gave it to the scammers, notes 360.ru .

The prosecutor's office stressed that the identification of those involved in the crime is under the control of the Cheryomushkin interdistrict prosecutor's office.

All important news is on the Izvestia channel in the MAX messenger.
