Szijjarto announced Orban's visit to Trump in early November
Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban will pay a visit to US President Donald Trump in early November. This was announced on October 22 by Hungarian Foreign Minister Peter Szijjarto after talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
"On the one hand, it was necessary to discuss issues related to peace efforts, and on the other, topics related to the upcoming visit of the Prime Minister to Washington," Szijjarto said in an interview with M1 TV channel.
Szijjarto also noted that the United States views Hungary as a friend and ally, including at the level of governments, institutions and on a personal level.
Earlier in the day, Trump announced the cancellation of a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Budapest. He noted that he had the impression that it would not be possible to "achieve the desired goal" in negotiations with Putin. According to him, the heads of state "will meet in the future."
