Nutritionist Roman Pristansky dispelled myths about nuts. According to him, the folk wisdom about the benefits of nuts for the mind is absolutely true.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Wednesday, October 22, Pristansky noted that the lipids contained in nuts serve as the main building material for hormone production. He explained that walnuts are especially high in polyphenols and enzymes that help expand the capillary network of the brain and improve the delivery of nutrients.

The expert stressed that the opinion about the negative effect of nuts on cholesterol levels is a myth. According to him, the increase in "harmful" cholesterol is more often associated with low-protein diets, rather than with fat intake. He added that the protein binds cholesterol and directs it for processing.

Pristansky also noted that there are treatment protocols in which, in order to reduce cholesterol, on the contrary, they increase the amount of protein and nuts in the diet, writes RT. He warned that nuts can be dangerous for allergy sufferers and should be carefully introduced into the diet of children. The nutritionist recommended eating nuts raw or dried without additives.

Earlier on October 22, RIAMO reported that the Moscow region increased production of nut products by 13.4%. According to the results of the entire 2024 year, 40.5 thousand tons of nut products were produced, the press service of the department reports.

On October 12, endocrinologist and nutritionist Anton Polyakov recommended eating no more than 25 grams of nuts at a time. The expert also advised soaking them before eating, notes 360.ru .

In September, Polyakov noted that pumpkin seeds can be eaten 50 grams at a time, and peeled sunflower seeds should be eaten no more than 20-25 grams, according to NSN.

On October 7, general practitioner Anastasia Yakimova said that proper nutrition with a sufficient content of tryptophan and B vitamins is very important to combat the autumn blues. These substances are found, in particular, in fish, turkey, nuts and dairy products, the Moscow City News Agency reports.

In September, Daria Rusakova, a nutritionist, told Moscow 24 that fatty fish and walnuts increase concentration very well. Blueberries and dark chocolate also contribute to this.
