Anatoly Tsygankov, head of the Department of the Hydrometeorological Center of Russia, told what kind of weather is expected in Moscow and the region in the near future.

In an interview with Radio 1 on Wednesday, October 22, the specialist noted that the weather in Moscow and the region remains comfortable: the temperature will be about 1.5 degrees above normal, and the amount of precipitation corresponds to seasonal indicators.

Tsygankov noted that a powerful Scandinavian cyclone is currently operating over the North Sea, the fronts of which are moving towards Western Europe with precipitation. This atmospheric front is gradually shifting towards Moscow and will begin to actively influence the weather in the second half of Saturday. According to the forecast, night temperatures can reach +4 degrees, and daytime temperatures can reach +8 degrees.

It is expected that on Sunday night it will be cloudy and foggy, with light rain that will last until Tuesday. Despite the precipitation, the temperature will remain above normal.

The forecaster added that fogs are common in autumn due to temperature differences and high humidity. According to them, the warmest September in the last two years was 2024, and this autumn was also warm and dry. The forecast for winter is mild, warm weather.

Under the big forecast: when to expect snow in Moscow

On the night of October 13, the temperature may drop to zero — and then it will only decrease.
