Informzashita holding specialists stated that the number of cyber attacks related to the theft of confidential data or funds through phishing sites increased approximately four times in the first nine months of 2025 compared to the same period last year.

In conversation with Lenta.Ru On Wednesday, October 22, experts noted that attackers are actively using the capabilities of artificial intelligence to improve their methods. According to them, various AI tools allow scammers to create websites that are as similar as possible to real ones in interface and partially in functionality, as well as send personalized messages in different languages.

The holding indicated that the main purpose of phishing sites in 2025 is the theft of confidential information and authentication data. In more than 70% of cases, the attackers acted precisely for this purpose, about 30% of phishing pages were created to steal financial resources, and about 15% were used to spread misinformation about government agencies and companies.

Pavel Kovalenko, director of the Informzashchita Anti-Fraud Center, stressed that phishing sites still pose a serious threat. He urged users to be especially careful, avoid clicking on suspicious links, ignore messages with "profitable" offers and carefully check the names of sites.

On October 20, Anton Nemkin, a member of the State Duma Committee on Information Policy, Information Technologies and Communications, was warned about "lottery" fraudulent schemes. In an interview with RT, he said that scammers send fake "promotions" and "sweepstakes" on behalf of well-known brands in order to obtain personal data and card details or force victims to make small regular payments. Such schemes are most often distributed through messengers and social networks.

On October 20, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation warned about new fraud schemes on dating sites. It was clarified that the scam is indicated by the refusal of face-to-face meetings after a long conversation, persistent requests for money transfers and excessively "ideal" questionnaires.

On October 19, the head of the "Call me Back" project at the Moscow Department of Information Technology, Valentina Shilina, told 360.ru about ways to protect yourself from fraudsters. In particular, offline and online lectures are held monthly for the older generation, and the Safe Click program teaches how to recognize fraudulent schemes through game tasks and imitation of real dialogues.

On October 18, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation said that fraudsters steal data through fake ads on the Internet to log in to the Gosuslug website. Fraudsters redirect victims to phishing sites, where they ask them to enter information from the "State Services" in order to receive payments and benefits. The Interior Ministry recommended avoiding unverified links to protect personal data, writes NSN.

On October 4, the Interior Ministry warned that Russians were facing a new large-scale wave of fraudulent mailings, this time disguised as official notifications from banks. As he writes Pravda.Ru Fake letters are being sent to citizens on behalf of large banks with a message about the "new tax", which will allegedly begin to be written off automatically. To avoid this, they offer to urgently sign a "waiver", intimidating with large sums.
