Air defense systems intercepted and destroyed nine drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in four hours in the skies over the regions of Russia. This was announced by the Russian Defense Ministry on October 22.

"In the period from 16:00 Moscow time to 20:00 Moscow time, nine Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles of an airplane type were intercepted and destroyed by air defense systems on duty," the department wrote on its Telegram channel.

It is noted that six drones were eliminated over the Belgorod region, and three more drones were shot down over the Bryansk region.

Earlier in the day, the ministry reported that the air defense forces shot down 33 Ukrainian drones overnight. It was noted that eight drones were eliminated over the Bryansk, Leningrad, Rostov, Novgorod, Orel, Tver, Tula and Pskov regions, the waters of the Azov and Black Seas, and the Republic of Crimea.
