- The IOC did not comment on the situation with the FIS decision on the admission of Russians.
On October 22, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) refused to comment on the decision of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) on the non-admission of Russians to the competition.
"Each international federation is the only body authorized to hold its international competitions outside the Olympic Games. Therefore, we kindly recommend that you contact the FIS," the organization's press service told TASS.
Earlier in the day, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia was disappointed by the ban of the International Ski and Snowboard Federation (FIS) on the participation of skiers in competitions. He also noted that Russia will continue "painstaking, patient work with the federation to defend the interests of our athletes."
On October 21, FIS did not allow Russian athletes to participate in international competitions. The Russian Ski Racing Federation (FLGR) noted that this decision of the FIS is discriminatory and contrary to the principles of political neutrality.
