In Russia, red caviar and red fish may become cheaper by the New Year. This was announced on October 22 by the head of Rosrybolovstvo Ilya Shestakov at the International Fisheries Forum.

At the same time, according to Shestakov, these products will be enough both for the domestic market and for export.

"There are enough red fish, and enough caviar for the domestic market, and partly for export," RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.

The head of Rosrybolovstvo clarified that "the greater the supply, the lower the price," commenting on the question of how good food will affect the pricing of fish and caviar on the eve of the New Year holidays. He also expressed the hope that the situation with this category of products will develop within the market economy.

On October 12, it was reported that in September of this year, the national average price for red caviar was 9.4 thousand rubles per kilogram, compared to 9.5 thousand rubles in August. It was noted that the last time a similar price level was observed in December 2024, when the delicacy cost 9.2 thousand rubles.

At the same time, on August 26, they also pointed to a recorded decrease in prices for salmon caviar by retail chains. According to the agency, sockeye salmon caviar has fallen in price by 9%, and pink salmon caviar by 2%. It is emphasized that the trend began to be observed at the wholesale level, and this happened due to the successful development of the red Putin.
