Analysts talked about the benefits of buying used cars from dealers

"The study showed that when comparing comparable cars, the prices are about the same. At the same time, data for the same period in 2024 showed the same results: dealer prices for comparable cars were also 1% lower than those of private sellers. From this, we can conclude that the trend is not related to a drop in market demand in 2025," said Alyona Inozemtseva, Director of Development and Sales at <url>.

The price difference for some models is up to 27%, as in the case of the Nissan Primera III (2001-2008 model years). Also, according to data for January – September 2025, the most profitable models to buy from dealers are the Hyundai Elantra IV (2006-2011), which has an average price 22% lower than that of private dealers, the Skoda Superb II (2008-2013) — by 21%, and the Volvo XC60 I (2013-2017) — by 17% and BMW X5 E70 (2010-2013) — by 16%.

Earlier, on October 20, it became known about a decrease in the number of dealerships in Russia for the first nine months of 2025 by 125, to 4,036. According to a joint study by Gazprombank Autoleasing and Avtobusinessreview, 513 new car dealerships were opened in the Russian Federation in three quarters, while 638 were closed. The most active reformatting process is noted in the Chinese segment. The number of auto brand salons from China decreased to 2.6 thousand: 491 closures accounted for 403 openings.
