Russia is leaving the door open for political and diplomatic solutions in the field of arms control. This was announced on October 22 by Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov during a speech at a meeting within the framework of the webinar series "History and Modernity of Russian Nuclear Policy and Public Diplomacy in the nuclear field," organized by the Center for Energy and Security with the support of the Presidential Grants Foundation.

"Nevertheless, we are leaving the door open for political and diplomatic solutions in the future," TASS quoted him as saying.

Ryabkov also expressed confidence that Russia will cope, even if the United States does not accept Russia's proposal on the Strategic Offensive Arms Treaty (START Treaty) and stressed that the country's security will be guaranteed.
