A boarding house for children with cancer will open in New Moscow
The construction of the Izmalkovo boarding house for children undergoing outpatient treatment for oncological and hematological diseases and their families is being completed in New Moscow. The project is being implemented by the Podari Zhizn Charitable Foundation with the support of Sberbank, the Moscow government and other partners. The first families will be able to move into the boarding house in 2026. This was reported by the press service of Sberbank.
Thanks to the boarding house, the Dmitry Rogachev National Research Medical Center for Pediatric Oncology, Hematology and immunology in Europe will increase its capacity by 20%, which will allow hundreds of children from all over Russia to receive treatment on time, Sbera reported. The Bank financed the development of the architectural concept of the boarding house and the construction of one of the residential buildings.
"The responsibility of big business is not only an economic result, but also what the life of the next generations will be like," said German Gref, head of Sberbank. He stressed that the bank understands that "the scale of business today is measured not by profit, but by contribution to the development of society."
According to Gref, by supporting projects such as the Izmalkovo boarding house, Sber invests in a culture of helping children with cancer — "in infrastructure that really changes the quality of life of thousands of families across the country."
The boarding house is located on the territory of the Samarins estate in Peredelkin. The complex has been completely restored and landscaped, while preserving the historical appearance of the XVIII–XIX centuries. There are eight residential buildings for 78 families, a park, playgrounds and sports grounds, a greenhouse and recreation areas. In the future, thematic exhibitions, cultural events and family rehabilitation programs will be held here.
