- A wild lynx that swam across the river was removed from a pole in the village of Transbaikalia
In the village of Novokruchininsky in Transbaikalia, a wild lynx was removed from a power transmission pole. Before that, she swam across the Ingoda River. To remove the animal, the veterinarians had to euthanize it.
Local residents reported a lynx on a pole to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, but the agency refused to participate in the rescue operation. The volunteers of the BLAGODAR detachment, employees of the village administration and specialists of the city service for trapping animals responded to the call, writes ChitaMedia news agency.
First, the power line was de-energized, and the lynx was euthanized with a sleeping pill administered remotely. The animal fell into the grass. Then the lynx was taken to the forest, which was not affected by fires. By the time the volunteers left, lynx was already regaining consciousness.
Earlier it was reported that the Ministry of Natural Resources of Khakassia rescued a lynx, which the dogs had driven onto an electric support. It is assumed that the animal lived at someone's house. The agency stressed that a wild cat could not have gone down on its own.
