The launch date of Russia's first dolphin center in Anapa has been postponed
Anapa has suspended the process of launching Russia's first emergency hospital for the treatment of marine mammals. Due to the lack of connection to the drainage system, it is impossible to start the center. This is reported by the Delphi Dolphin Rescue Center.
According to KrasnodarMedia news agency, the only available sewer line is privately owned. The Center was denied access to communications. The staff of the center is engaged in obtaining the necessary permits to install a separate pipeline. Delphi specialists claim that such work is technically feasible, but it will require additional time and finances.
Meanwhile, the agency notes, the lack of a hospital limits the ability of specialists to provide assistance to dolphins and their rehabilitation.
The day before, on October 21, two squirrels were found washed ashore on the Central Beach of Anapa. One dolphin was able to return to the sea on its own, the second died before rescuers arrived.
In the spring of 2025, it was announced the creation of a unique medical facility for dolphins in Anapa. The exact completion dates were not announced.
In mid-September, it was reported that the Black Sea dolphin, which had been in the fresh water of the Beisug River in the Kuban for a long time, was rescued by specialists.
