Fashion historian Alexander Vasiliev spoke about the arrest at the US border
Fashion historian and former host of the Fashion Verdict program on Channel One, Alexander Vasiliev, announced his detention by American border guards on October 21.
"The border guard was not satisfied with my answers in good English. He was confused by the remote location of the cities where I will perform," he wrote on his Instagram page (owned by Meta, whose activities are recognized as extremist and banned in Russia).
According to Vasiliev, the customs officers were also interested in a large number of advertisements with announcements of his performances on the Internet. After the interrogation, the ex-TV presenter was escorted to a room for detainees, and his luggage was searched.
"Fortunately, the inspection did not last long, the suitcase was given to me in about 20 minutes with the words "your luggage has been checked, there are no diamonds from the Louvre in it," the fashion historian shared.
In September 2024, the official portal of the US Department of Justice reported on the detention of Russian citizen Denis Postovoy. He was later arrested on charges of conspiracy to violate the Export Control Reform Act, smuggling, money laundering, and fraud against the United States. The Russian Embassy in Washington is monitoring the situation related to the detention of the Guard.
