More than 800 dormitories will be renovated in Russia and 27 world-class campuses will be built. Ekaterina Kharchenko, Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Science and Higher Education, told Izvestia about this on October 22.

"More than 800 dormitories will be renovated across the country and 27 world-class campuses will be built in many regions of the country. And this, of course, is a significant measure of support for higher education," Kharchenko said.

According to her, it is also planned to increase the financing of the higher education system by more than 7%. She clarified that the country will develop projects aimed at technological leadership. According to her, we are talking about instrument engineering, machine tool construction, microelectronics, aircraft construction and other important industries. In addition, the costs of scientific activities will increase.

Earlier, on October 18, it was reported that the Russian Ministry of Education and Science is considering the possibility of using artificial intelligence (AI) in the field of higher education and science. The ministry stressed the importance of taking into account the risks associated with the introduction of AI technologies, including generative neural networks in the educational process.
